FAQs
What is a tenant self-disclosure form needed for?
The self-disclosure helps the landlord to get to know the prospective tenant better. First and foremost, this involves a credit check: can the new tenant afford the apartment? Are there any rent debts from a previous tenancy?
What is a SEPA direct debit mandate needed for?
With the SEPA direct debit mandate, you authorize us to collect claims arising from the tenancy. This primarily concerns the rent, but may also include repair costs.
What is the new tenant declaration and what is it used for?
In this declaration, please let us know if there are other people living in your household (e.g. partner, children). You are obliged to provide this information. The basis for this is the Federal Registration Act.
What is the new subtenant declaration and what is it used for?
In this declaration, the subtenant officially states which rented apartment he/she is living in as a subtenant, when he/she moved in and, if applicable, with whom (e.g. partner, child). Personal data (e.g. surname, first name, previous address) is also included. The declaration finally goes to the main landlord.
What is a landlord/landlady certificate?
In the landlord’s certificate, which is often also called the landlord’s certificate, the landlord officially states who moved into the apartment he is renting and on what date. Tenants need this certificate from the residents’ registration office.
Which animals may be kept in an apartment?
In many cases, the respective house rules or rental agreement regulate whether animals may be kept in your rented apartment. If in doubt, please submit an application to keep animals, the relevant form can be downloaded here.
What is a previous landlord's certificate and what is it used for?
Have this certificate filled out by your former landlord. It provides information about how your tenancy was: Were there any disturbing noises? Rent debts? Have you possibly violated the house rules? Ultimately, this certificate is a kind of letter of recommendation that many landlords like to have prospective tenants show them.
How long is the notice period for a rental apartment?
As a rule, the deadline is three months. However, there may be special agreements in each tenancy agreement, such as the exclusion of termination. This exclusion of termination is possible for a maximum of four years.
Why do I have to enter my telephone number and e-mail address?
In principle, you are not obliged to do so. However, it helps enormously with communication if we can also reach you easily by phone or e-mail in case of doubt. Otherwise we only have the postal service.
What happens if I do not enter my telephone number and e-mail address?
If no e-mail address or telephone number is available, we will communicate with you exclusively by post.
What is a tenant number and where can I find it?
The tenant number identifies the tenant in our master data. This means that we can immediately and correctly allocate inquiries and requests. You should always include your tenant number in all correspondence – whether by post or e-mail. You will find your tenant number, for example, in your tenancy agreement and on bills.
